West Burnside Chiropractic Clinic
The West Burnside Chiropractic Clinic (WBCC) is a free clinic for patients who are uninsured or underinsured. Our clinic has been providing care since 1987. Approximately 4500 treatments are provided at the WBCC each year. The value of the services provided to the community annually by the WBCC is over $100,000. The clinic is supported by Western States Chiropractic College.

The West Burnside Chiropractic Clinic is a member of the Coalition of Community Health Clinics, a group of twelve non-profit clinics, which serve the uninsured and underinsured in Multnomah County by delivering health care. Coalition Clinics provide over 100,000 health care visits to Multnomah County residents each year.

In addition to providing care at our clinic we provide on-site treatments at three residential alcohol and drug (A&D) treatment centers. The Collins Foundation awarded a grant to the WBCC to fund this project.

Best Candidates for Care
. People receive care for three categories of problems: 1) Acute, disabling musculoskeletal conditions (back, neck, arm and leg pain) 2) Chronic musculoskeletal conditions. 3) Wellness / Preventive care (care and support for chronic conditions that can be managed with changes in diet and activity).

Our priority is helping people with acute disabling problems who are unable to work or continue their normal activities due to musculoskeletal pain.

What can patients expect? We see patients by appointment and we take walk in patients. It takes about two weeks to get a new patient appointment. People with an acute episode of disabling pain have a high priority and we will usually be able to see them within 1-2 days. People with chronic or non-disabling problems can be scheduled within 2 weeks.

We do not provide massage therapy. Most patients receive spinal manipulation and exercise. We do not have massage therapists or electrotherapies such as ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation and motorized traction tables. We provide a limited (1-5) number of treatments with a problem solving focus. Self-care is emphasized.
