During the second year, emphasis on the Basic Sciences decreases while correspondingly, the students’ attention becomes more keenly focused on the clinical sciences (physical diagnosis, radiology, laboratory, emergency care, and infectious diseases) and the chiropractic sciences (soft tissue therapy, adjustive technique, biomechanics, and palpation). By the end of the second year, students will have been taught how to adjust most of the articulations/joints of the human body. It is during this phase of the students’ academic careers that they are instructed in the art of diagnosis, clinical reasoning, and clinical problem solving. The students also receive introductory material on the clinical experience.
