If you were on campus for the Northwest Chiropractic Symposium at the beginning of June, you may have noticed the equipment and activity at the Anatomical Sciences Building construction site. We are very excited to announce that we have concluded the preparatory phases of this project and have moved into the first stage of construction.

Coming in 2010: WSCC’s New Anatomical Sciences Building
In 2004, WSCC’s Board recognized the need to replace the Anatomy Lab and began to develop the vision of an exciting new, environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art Anatomical Sciences Building. This summer, construction will begin on the new building at the site of the former White House in the northwest corner of the WSCC campus.
The new building will provide a greatly improved environment that better cultivates the education of WSCC students, supports advanced learning technology, and supplies much-needed office and meeting space for WSCC faculty.
State-of-the-Art Dissection Theater
ten dissection stations and a prosection station
substantial workspace
clear, bright lighting
networked computer stations for each student group
enhanced learning technology including a sophisticated audio visual distribution system, a high-definition video camera, and eight 52-inch LCD monitors
Contemporary Preservation Room
ample capacity
modern waste-disposal mechanisms
modern security system
Convenient Gowning Area
men’s and women’s changing areas
student lockers
convenient restrooms and wash stations
Welcoming Lobby, Spacious Faculty Offices and Support Rooms
beautiful and inviting lobby
support space for anatomy and basic sciences professors
privacy for student-faculty meetings
conference room
“Green” Heating/Cooling/Ventilation System
enhanced air quality and comfortable low-odor setting
high energy-efficiency
minimal environmental impact
A generous donation from NCMIC funded audio visual technology for the Anatomical Sciences Building. This equipment has been temporarily installed in the current Anatomy Lab and will be transferred to the new building when it’s completed next year.
