Resources: Care
Pathways & Protocols
Now Available to Aid Alumni in Practice
For the past six years,
two committees at Western States Chiropractic College have been
meeting weekly to tackle the colossal task of developing conservative
care pathways for chiropractic procedures. Ron LeFebvre, DC, and
dean of chiropractic and clinical education at the college, is heading
up these efforts and would like to share WSCC's ongoing results
with Alumni to assist them in their practices.
"In developing pathways
for each condition, we begin with a literature search to gather
all of the evidence we can find to assist us in determining the
best way to diagnose and treat a particular condition. This allows
us to immediately identify some of the best practice strategies
for making correct diagnoses and identifying which treatments are
supported with the most evidence," stated Dr. LeFebvre. "This
method also serves the purpose of keeping our clinical staff, which
is involved in the process, very up-to-date with the literature,"
he added. "It's like a graduate course on steroids, because
they not only passively take in the material, but they use it to
fashion a document, which becomes our standard protocol in the clinic.
We are offering WSCC
